March Real Estate + Lifestyle Updates

Happy S P R I N G from Park City,

We’ve had a month full of snow, sunshine, warm days, chilly days, and good times! Deer Valley and Park City Mountain resorts each announced extended ski seasons, with operations on the mountain running through April 21st, 2024 this year.

Our real estate market continues with activity in both moderately priced and higher end ranges, particularly when a property is in a highly desirable location. Well priced properties and remodeled or new homes can trade quickly, and sometimes with multiple offers. Inventory remains limited, leaving many buyers who are ready to purchase waiting for the right fit to become available. Having knowledge of properties before they come to open market can be to the great benefit of our buyers, and Sellers may find opportunities to move on swiftly, knowing they have a buyer eager and capable of closing on a place.

The National Association of Realtors has been in the news and with all sorts of headlines this month. A recent ruling outlines proposed regulations regarding logistics of buyer agent offerings of compensation as well as nation-wide industry standards regarding the process of buyer representation. Our brokerage has been focused on this for years and we stay appraised of industry updates continuously. We would be pleased to discuss any questions you may have about it.

We strive to provide customized, top-notch care, sometimes that means collaborating with associates in our office or worldwide through the Sotheby’s International Realty network. The network of contacts we have developed through participation in the Sotheby’s International Realty and Luxury Real Estate networks and events have let us connect buyers and sellers with qualified, capable associates in communities throughout the country. Last month I enjoyed time in Tahoe and Jackson Hole, connecting with associates from feeder markets as well as other resort towns.

We love our role as connectors and experts and look forward to helping you with your next move.

See you on the trails,

Abbi and Bill

Tahoe Connect 2024

Abbi had the incredible opportunity to participate in TAHOE CONNECT, generously hosted by good friend and colleague, Breck Overall with the Overall Hamilton Group of Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty in Truckee, California.

Associates from locations all over the country and many resort towns with a passion for skiing, boarding, or just being in the mountains all gathered together. With perfect conditions and lots of fresh snow, Palisades Tahoe & Alpine Meadows were ideal venues to further foster network friendships and connections!

As the resort prepares to welcome skiers in just a couple of years, it’s sharing a sneak peek into what the new terrain will be like.

Demographic Shifts and the Evolution of Real Estate: A Global Perspective

Generally speaking, wealthier citizens around the world are more mobile than ever. As the global economy emerges from the pandemic, more buyers are maintaining multiple residences, whether in different states or on different continents. This increased mobility means buyers and sellers are looking at transactions with a modified perspective, whether that’s in light of higher taxes, new government incentives, or in the face of a changing climate. Read full article

Deaths declined sharply for the first time since the start of the pandemic; however, births also declined this year after increasing in 2022. These dynamics caused an increase in natural increase for the first time since 2013.The midyear reference date of these estimates reflects a post COVID-19 era, with rising inflation, increasing interest rates and a moderation of high growth from the last few years.
